Serenity Horse Haven was founded in 2010 and works with Texas Law Enforcement Agencies, the SPCA of East Texas, and the Canton Veterinary Clinic to rescue and care for critically neglected and abused horses.

Our Adoption Process:

Once a horse has been rehabilitated (some require more rehabilitation than others) and is given a "Clean Bill of Health" by our veterinarian, the horse is available for adoption based on any behavior issues and/or special needs.

Horses for adoption from Serenity Horse Haven are available to approved homes (home visit required), they are up-to-date on everything and evaluated by our vet prior to adoption.

• Generally, we do not have a set adoption fee. We simply ask that our adopters understand that caring and rehabilitating critically starved and neglected horses is expensive. It cost us about $250.00 each time we adopt a horse, just to get the final Coggins, shots, and vetting prior to adoption. We always ask the adopter to at least make a minimum donation to cover these charges associated with the adoption process.

• We do have some horses that we have paid to have trained and those horses will have an adoption fee associated with their adoption, based on how much has been spent on their training.

Please remember, every horse adopted saves 2 horses. The 1 being adopted and the 1 made room for by the adoption.

If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Application. Once you have completed the application, please return it to us and we will start the adoption process. We will process your application and get back to you as quickly as possible.
